Privacy Policy
VoltType Offline is built so there is almost nothing to collect. This page says exactly what does and doesn't happen to your data.

The short version
Your dictation — the audio you speak and the text it becomes — is processed entirely on your own device and is never sent to us or anyone else. There is no server that receives it. That is the whole point of the product.
The dictation itself (desktop app & in-browser demo)
- Audio is transcribed on your device by an open-source speech model that also runs on your device.
- We do not receive, store, log, or transmit your audio or transcribed text. It never leaves the machine — you can verify this by turning Wi-Fi off and continuing to dictate.
- The AI model is downloaded once from Hugging Face (huggingface.co) and the transcription library from jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net); like any download, those requests transmit your IP address to those providers. The files are identical for every user, contain no personal data, and are then stored locally. Fonts and flag icons are served from our own domain — no Google Fonts, no other third-party assets.
This demo website
- We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-first and cookieless: it records anonymous, aggregate visit counts (page views, approximate country, referrer). It does not use cookies, does not fingerprint you, and cannot see your dictation.
- The demo stores a few items in your own browser (your language choice, whether the demo AI is loaded, an access flag). These stay on your device; the “Reset demo” link removes them.
Your free-trial profile
- To load the demo AI you sign in once, with a one-time email link or with Google. We then store on our servers (Cloudflare, EU/EEA data centres where available): your email address, your name if Google provides it, sign-in timestamps, your interface language, and a word count of what you dictated — the number only. Never your voice, never your text. Your dictation is still processed entirely on your device.
- Sign-in emails are sent by Resend (our email provider) from hello@volttype.com. Signing in with Google sends you to Google's own sign-in page; we receive only your email address and name, and we load no Google script on this site.
- The word count enforces the free trial (300 words per profile). When a trial is used up we may contact you once at that email address about the full product; you can ask us to delete your profile at any time at hello@volttype.com.
- Legal basis: performance of the trial you requested (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in preventing abuse of the free trial (Art. 6(1)(f)). Retention: until you ask for deletion, or 24 months after your last sign-in.
If you contact us
- When you use the “Get the desktop app” form, the details you choose to enter (email, and optionally name, phone, company, profession, message) are sent to us by email so we can reply and set you up. We use them only to respond to your enquiry.
- We don't sell or share your contact details.
Your rights
Because the product processes nothing on our side, there is no dictation data for us to hold, export, or delete. For any contact details you sent us by email, you can ask us to delete them at any time — write to hello@volttype.com.
